Taking Stock in the Kitchen
I’ve taken the Body-for-Life authorized foods list and placed it into an Excel spreadsheet. After deleting the foods I simply will not eat, I still have a list with a great deal of variety possible.
I’ll be comparing the list to what I have available in my kitchen so I can be sure to always have a good variety of foods available. I will most likely end up focusing on one or two sources each of proteins, vegetables and carbohydrates.
Chicken breasts will be easy to use as I can marinate and grill a four-pound bag of boneless, skinless breasts on the weekend and use them throughout the week. Whey protein powder without sugar added will also be a protein staple for me.
Since my diet will be fairly low in carbohydrates, I expect I’ll focus mainly on using brown rice and low-carb tortillas. Those two are the most flexible carbohydrates and can be dressed up any number of ways.
